The Rocks

Once upon a time there was a stretch of blue water. It was slightly different from the others, because there were some dark rocks which emerged, now here, now there, full of dangerous tops.
The youngest fish—that little by little learnt how to swim—usually bumped their mouths or their tails against them, at the beginning of their difficult adventure. Yes, difficult, because it’s really hard to learn how to swim.
Even for the human creatures it wasn’t easy to deal with those rocks. To tell the truth, when it was full moon, some small boats with courting couples glided near the rocks as if they would hide from inquisitive eyes. But, at times, even the human beings underwent scratches and injures bumping against these rocks.
They were alive beings. Sometimes they puffed giving out heavy breathings and many strong sprinklings of water. On occasion, they sucked the water and everything floated away.gli scogli
In the first case they reminded the most picturesque women, who, standing with their hands on their hips, in the courtyards near the sea, shouted at the top of their voices against their husband and children. In the second case, they reminded the most impolite human creatures who, from time to time, lost their temper and took their adversaries home to clear up their ideas privately with the help of some fits and slaps.
They were disquieting rocks.
One day a goldfish, that had been wounded by a rock, burst out: “Please, tell me what is the use of these public menaces.” The oldest and wisest fish decided to tell the truth. Sometimes they laughed at this poor fish, sometimes they listened to him. Now there was too much confusion among the fish and it was necessary to speak.
So that wise fish began to think and he didn’t care if someone laughed at him. He summoned all the fish that lived there and said: “The sea rocks frighten you, but we can’t anything about it. They are the fears of the human beings who threw them into the sea, a long, long time ago, trying to get rid of them.
They were not quickly successful in their undertaking, in fact we think there will be other hurls.
Look: they are dark, rough and rugged stones, because fears were like this for the human beings.
The stones have kept the threatening aspect of fears which have been petrified to do less wrong to the human creatures.
